My name is Lex Lemmers, and I’m a photographer based in Alkmaar, The Netherlands. Photography came to me later in life — born from a moment of clarity when I realized that being in nature is true freedom. That feeling of standing somewhere vast and wild, completely present, sparked something I couldn’t ignore. And with that came a new obsession: trying to capture that feeling in a single frame. It’s the coolest challenge I’ve ever taken on.

Wildlife and landscapes have always called to me in equal measure. My love for wild places quickly grew beyond the flat polders and open skies of home — and so I travel. It’s out there, far from Alkmaar, where most of my work is born. Every trip brings something unexpected — a sudden encounter, a perfect light, a moment you couldn’t have planned.
I created this space to share the world as I see it through my lens — real and full of quiet wonder. Every image here carries a memory — a cold morning, a long hike, a split second where everything aligned. I hope these images inspire you to step outside, breathe it all in, and find your own moment of freedom
If you’d like to collaborate, discuss a project, or bring one of these moments into your home as a print, I’d love to hear from you.
